(1928), in-4°, 28 x 22 cm, 109 pp, with full page illustrations in black/white of cars and exhibition displays, bound in publisher's green imitation leather with gilt lettering on front cover. Finely preserved notwdithstanding some tiny foxing spots at first and last leaves. An early and interesting manual on how to enhance car sales by means of automobile shows. In this exhaustive and well illustrated publication all aspects are treated. The book is published without a date. We derive the year from two dated illustrations (1926 ; 1927). This book illustrates the highly developped marketing skills used by the General Motors Company as early as the1920ies to promote the sales of their cars. A rare early marketing publication."

(some minor foxing at some pages). Finely produced commemorative publication on the opening of the penultimate General Motors car plant in Antwerp at the ''Noorderlaan'' in 1953. Text in French. "14. Luton, General Motors Company, no date, (ca. 1925), oblong in-4° album, 23,5 x 27 cm, album with one title laef and 17 thick board leaves with 34 original photographs mounted recto verso. Photo size 140 x 190 mm. Bound in green half leather publisher's binding, Gilt title on front cover. Extremities of the binding worn, especially top turn in which is damaged. Interior fine with the 34 original photographs in fine condition. With a small label of the photographer tipped on to the last paste down. '' Photos by W. Brooks & Son . 35 , Wood End Road , Erdington, Birmingham.''. The sharp pictures give an excellent view of the manufacturing process of the (1925 ?) Chevrolet sedan and pick-up truck ; starting in the main office, planning department, toolshop , the woodwork department...up till a row of new cars and trucks ready to be driven to General Motors distribution centre at Hendon. All work is done without an assembly line in sight . The pictures have printed captions. We estimate the date of publication at shortly after 1925. GM acquired Vauxhall in that year."
