Interesting provenance of an extremely curious book containing some strong 19th century racists ideas compiled by the author during a 4 year visit in Australia. The author was a medical doctor in the service of the French Navy. From 1875 till 1888 he was a prominent member of the Société d'Anthropologie de Paris .
