The author died before the completion of this work and apparently his manuscript in German was translated by Ferdinand Reiber and first published in the Revue et Magasin de Zoologie. A few other parts were issued after these three, and complete copies have 17 plates. Bookplate on front paste-down. Old repair to one plate. Last 12 pages pages repaired (on bottom corners).
