Il testo è impreziosito da numerose incisioni su rame di Heinrich Heitz che riproducono le originali di Hans Holbein (1497-1543) pubblicate nell'edizione di Froben del 1515. "Ces dessins (de Hans Holbein) faits a la plume, se trouvent sur les marges d'un exemplaire de l'Eloge de la Folie, conserve au Musee de Bale, et aupres duquel des amateurs de tous les pays viennent chaque jour en pelrinage" (nota all'edizione francese del 1870). Testo in latino e greco con note a cura di Gerardus Listrius (1470?-1521). Il ritratto di Erasmo da Rotterdam in antiporta risulta mancante. In barbe. In ottime condizioni.
