"16. Antverpiae , ( Antwerpen ) , Apud Joannem Baptistam Verdussen, ''Sub Signo duarum Ciconiarum'', 1750, in-folio, 36,5 x 23,5 cm, (8) nn pp ( title, index) + 563 pp + CCXLIV pp ; (2) nn pp ( separate title of the ''Supplementum, undated'' + 144 pp. ( complete). Both title printed in red & black and with large wood-engraved printers' mark. All pages contain printed music, in red & black ( staves in red, initials and some text words also in red). Printed on extra strong paper. Bound in contemporary full leather, both covers with blindtooling, raised spine , with two bronze clasps ( in functioning order), with the original bookmark consisting of several green silk ties kept together with a small wooden stick ( silk dustsoiled ). Binding with some traces of use but generally in fine condition. Interior also fine allthough some pages show minor thumbing marks. PP 366-369 are showing more thumbing, indicating frequent use of these pages ( They contain '' Commemorationes Consuetae pro Sancta Maria'' - and - '' Ad Completorium '' ) . The leaves 241/242 and XXIX/XXX have a tear in the lower margin, without loss of paper. Allthough the book has clearly been in use for an extended period it is still in very good condition; not in the least because of the strong paper on which it has been printed and the sturdy binding. Also the carefull handling of - most probably - convent nuns added to the fine conservation. Fine complete copy, in good condition, of a Roman Catholic Antiphonery. This is liturgical book of chants intended for use ''in choro'' ( i.e. in the liturgical choir) during various parts of the Roman Liturgy. Copies in this condition are very rare."
