All contained in a cloth bound box. 51.5×38cms. Sir Donald McCullin CBE (born 9 October 1935) is a British photojournalist, particularly recognised for his war photography and images of urban strife. His career, which began in 1959, has specialised in examining the underside of society, and his photographs have depicted the unemployed, downtrodden and the impoverished. Vol 1. The largest collection of Don's journalism ever published, as chosen by Don. For each photograph he has identified a definitive print or, where none existed, has revisited the darkroom to create one. Printed to unprecedented standards with Don's full oversight it features his most iconic photographs as well as previously unseen images. It includes his most recent, and possibly last ever war photography taken in October 2015 covering the Kurdish militia's frontline with ISIS in northern Iraq. Vol 2.A series of photographic essays that collects Don's acclaimed chronicling of the English landscape; his beautifully constructed still lifes; travels through India, Africa and Indonesia; and his record of the Roman Empire's 'Southern Frontiers', much of which is currently under threat of destruction by ISIS. Vol 3. Don's updated autobiography, originally published in 1990, to take into account his life and career since then. Fully illustrated throughout with rare photographs and items from Don's personal archive, it provides fascinating context to the extraordinary breadth and depth of his work..‎

‎Don McCullin: Life and Death and everything in between.‎

‎
Life, Death and Everything in Between présente des photographies clés de Don McCullin.

– Simon Baker

//

Life, Death and Everything in Between presents key photographs by Don McCullin. The 140 images in the book—some rarely published or previously unseen—were edited by McCullin through the process of revisiting his archives and reassessing photographs made from the late 1950s until last year. The book aims to be neither a retrospective nor definitive publication, but to present a selection of images valued by McCullin with the benefits of both hindsight and wisdom, encapsulating his prolific, varied and ongoing career.

The book opens with McCullin’s documentary photographs made in London in the 1950s, followed by reportage made in conflicts across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and South-East Asia. More recent photographs in the book link the legacy of the Roman Empire in the Mediterranean and the latest, previously unpublished landscapes made near his home in Somerset.
Londres, 2023 GOST 224 p., nombreuses photographies, relié toile éditeur. 28,5 x 36,5‎
