The first edition was published in 1894, some corrections were made especially for the different spelling of mountain peaks. In the first edition the ‘Marmolata’ came up with at least 4 different spellings and for the ‘Eisach, Eisack or Eisak’ these 3 diff. spellings were given. ‘Rather exaggerated accounts of fairly unremarkable climbs. The reviewer in the Alpine Journal noted with some satisfaction that the book had been advertised by one magazine under the heading of ‘FICTION’ (?). (Neate).
