Original front cover bound in, as very often the thin and fragile transparent covers with damage (large upper corner chipped). Uncut. Provenance: stamp of the Belgian malacologist Paul Dupuis (1869-1931) in the top margin of the half-title, later in the library of Cor Karnekamp (with his ex libris). Apart from the chipped front cover an excellent, spotless copy. Rare in any state.An important and beautifully illustrated work on Arctic molluscs. Buccinidae, Littorinidae, and Astartidae feature prominently in an amazing variety.
