Early and highly influential American Masonic monitor compiled by Jeremy Ladd Cross, Grand Lecturer and one of the principal figures in the systematization of Masonic ritual in the United States. First published in 1819, this present second edition represents one of the earliest widely disseminated forms of the work. It provides a structured exposition of the symbolic “hieroglyphs” and emblems employed across the Craft and higher degrees. It was intended both as an instructional manual and as a help to standardize ritual practice. Wolfstieg 33184
