1903-1904 [8], 46, viii p., 28 lithographed plates, portrait, royal 4to (24 x 31.5 cm), quarter cloth over boards (original front cover laid on, original back cover with lower corner missing), author/title written on spine. Rare.Includes a Notice biographique of the Portuguese malacologist Francisco Antonio Pereira da Costa (1809-1889), with a tissue-guarded portrait. After the death of Pereira da Costa stock of 28 plates were found but the text was nowhere to be found. So Dollfus, Berkeley Cotter and Gomes were asked to provide the text for these beautiful plates. This is also the reason that the plate numbering is erratic.
