Paris, Hacquart, 1818. [viii], ccxxii, 405, [i], 4 pp. 4to. (21 x 26 cm.). Later 19th century half calf (gilt lettering and decoration faded; top or spine slightly damaged; joints, in places rubbed, but a firm binding), marbled endpapers. With 1 engraved plate.
First edition of the first national French pharmacopoeia and at the same time the" first national pharmacopolia of importance..."(LaWall p. 483). An official copy with the stamp of the Facult de la Mdecine and the signature of the dean of the Facult. The last 4 pages and the plate are a trade catalogue of the Firm Aloque of Paris, suppliers of pots, vases, porcelaine etc. for the pharmaceutical and chemical industry.-- (pp 403-405 with a small tear in the inner marging, not affecting the text; pp. ccxix-ccxxii bound between p. 8-9). A very acceptable copy of this rare work.
