‎Three weeks at Chamonix Mont-Blanc Aug. 14th-Sept. 4th 1925. Manuscript Alpine diary lavishly illustrated with contemporary postcards (most of them in color), original photos and a hand-drawn map of the Mont Blanc surroundings.‎

‎ 1925, gr. in-8vo, 18x24 cm. 29 stiff dark grey card leaves, written in English on both sides in dark blue ink. Profusely illustrated with ca. 150 tipped in picture postcards of Chamonix and the Mont-Blanc region & with some original photos and drawings, recent ex-libris ‘John Gadd’ / Peter E. Obergfell, more recent quarter green morocco, spine with raised bands, title and gilt fleurons. A very fine copy.‎

‎This lovely illustrated manuscript relates an alpine stay in Chamonix -Mont-Blanc. The anonymous author gathered a fine collection of contemporary and older postcards, illustrating early alpinism & tourism. Glaciers, mountain views and peasant life around 1900 -1925 Image disp.‎
