‎Produced as a memorial to Clinton Dent who was first President of the Association and who saw through the project of funding and building of the Brittannia Hut Die Britannia-Hütte wurde am 17. August 1912 offiziell eingeweiht, als die Association of British Members of the Swiss Alpine Club (ABMSAC) die Schlüssel der Hütte an die Sektion Genf des Schweizer Alpen-Clubs (SAC) übergab. Der Bau auf dem Klein Allalinhorn (Saas-Fee) war ein Geschenk britischer Kletterer als Dankeschön für die Gastfreundschaft in Schweizer Hütten.
