‎Bozar blikt terug op het werk van Antoni T pies (Barcelona, 1923-2012) met een retrospectieve die een tijdreis maakt tussen 1944 en de jaren 1990. Het is de eerste grote tentoonstelling in Belgi die een volledig beeld geeft van het werk van de kunstenaar. Meer dan 120 werken zijn na enkele decennia voor het eerst weer bij Bozar te zien. Van vroege tekeningen en zelfportretten gaat de tentoonstelling verder met zijn 'materieschilderijen' uit de jaren 50 en de voorwerpen en assemblages uit de jaren 60 en 70. De tentoonstelling gaat verder met zijn vernissen uit de jaren 80, waarmee hij enkele jaren eerder begon toen de Spaanse democratie het levenslicht zag, en wordt afgesloten met werken uit de jaren 90, waarin T pies het formele en materi le experiment dat altijd centraal stond in zijn praktijk, voortzette. Als autodidact tijdens het interbellum dacht T pies na over de condition humaine, zijn eigen historische situatie en de artistieke praktijk, meer bepaald over de grenzen en tegenstrijdigheden van de schilderkunst. Zijn zeer productieve oeuvre is over de hele wereld verspreid.
