Broad inside gilt borders with cornerpieces. Edges of covers gilt. Signed in gold: ""J. & E. Bumpus. L.2 Oxford St. W."" Fine condition.‎


‎Bumpus of Oxford St., a London department store that sold books, was known for classically designed, well-executed, and generally undervalued bindings produced under the Bumpus name for a substantial period, beginning in the latter part of the 19th century.‎
