Alfred Stieglitz (January 1, 1864 ? July 13, 1946) was an American photographer and promoter of modern art. In addition to photography, Stieglitz is also known for the art galleries he operated in New York in the early 20th century. In these galleries he introduced many European avant-garde artists to America. He published a magazine, Camera Work, in which he published photographs by prominent photographers. He married Georgia O'Keeffe (painter) in 1924.
