An early scientific contribution to the study of mineral waters by the noted Swedish botanist and physician.Peter Jonas Bergius (1730 – 1790) was a Swedish medical doctor and botanist. In 1758 Bergius was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. In 1768 he was elected to membership of the American Philosophical Society. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1770 and a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1785.

Binding by Gustaf Hedberg (1859-1920), a Stockholm based Swedish bookbinder whose label is present to the front pastedown. Hinnges with a bit of wear. Two stamps to title-page, otherwise a nice and clean copy. (2), 272 pp.
First edition here in a nice binding by Gustaf Hedberg (1859-1920), a Stockholm based Swedish bookbinder. He was considered one of Sweden's leading bookbinders and became binder to the Swedish court in 1901.
