En 1911, il remporta trois courses difficiles, qu'il raconte dans le présent livre : Paris-Rome, (mai 1911), le premier circuit d'Europe (juin 1911), que seuls 9 concurrents sur 40 purent terminer, et enfin le Tour d'Angleterre et d'Ecosse, en Juillet 1911.‎
