The rare first edition of Bang’s contemplations on the passion of Christ.Jens Thomsen Bang (ca. 1648-1699) was a priest in Slagslunde and Ganløse from 18 July 1673 until his death on 14 February 1699. Before that he was resident chaplain at the Church of the Savior in Christianshavn. He was born in Copenhagen, as the son of dr. and Prof. Theol. T. Sammelband containing three rare funeral sermons: One for Marcur Rothsteen, owner of Lundsgaard, who was buried in Kerteminde Church on February 16, 1671. One for Lars Lindenou, his wife Deliana Lutzou, her sister Ide Lutzou, and their relative Vibecke Catharina Rostrup, who drowned in a shipwreck near Solesand, off Stavanger, Norway, on October 10, 1690. A funeral sermon focused on Hugo Lutzou, mourning the death of his son, Magnus Lutzou, a former lieutenant in the Zealand National Regiment, whose body was interred in Antvorskov Castle Church on September 11, 1691.
