‎Souvenirs historiques de George BALDWIN, (décédé en 1818), écrivain et voyageur, est un mémoire proposant de faire du commerce entre les Indes, alors largement sous domination anglaise, l’Égypte, en passant par la mer rouge et l’Angleterre. Il n'y accomplit son projet qu'en 1773, lorsqu'il se trouvait au Caire à l'époque de Méhemed Bey, qui lui dit : « Si vous amenez les navires indiens à Suez, je poserai un aqueduc depuis le du Nil à Suez, et tu boiras de l'eau du Nil. », le but étant d’installer la puissance anglaise dans la région. En seconde partie, un essai sur le traitement de la peste par l’utilisation d’huile d’olive et la troisième partie nous donne une description de la bataille d’Aboukir Historical memories of George BALDWIN, (died in 1818), mystical writer, is a memoir proposing trade between the Indies, then largely under English domination, Egypt, via the Red Sea and England. He only accomplished his project in 1773, when he was in Cairo at the time of Méhemed Bey, who told him: "If you bring the Indian ships to Suez, I will lay an aqueduct from the Nile to Sweat, and you will drink water from the Nile. », the aim being to establish English power in the region. ‎Rarissima opera dello scrittore mistico George Baldwin (1744-1818), diplomatico inglese che gestiva i rapporti tra la "East India Company" e l'Egitto per poi ricoprire il ruolo di Console in Egitto. Per un certo periodo visse in Italia. Opera pubblicata senza frontespizio a cura dell'autore per una serie di amici selezionati. Senza data ma del 1801. Il primo scritto "An Investigation into Principles", sono una serie di riflessioni sulla natura degli elementi, gravità, tempo, marea, terremoti e mancanza di sale nella pioggia ( when raised into the sky by waterspouts, it is sweetened by the action of electricity). Testo inglese. A seguire l'autore nello scritto "On magnetism" dichiara che è stata scritta durante un sonno magnetico. Baldwin nel 1789 iniziò alcuni esperimenti su se stesso e si rese conto di possedere "un influenza magnetica" durante quello che nella prefazione chiama "magnetic sleep" e i cui messaggi venivano trascritti da Cesare Avena di Valdieri raccolti nello scritto "Magnetic productions" per un totale di 51 sessioni. Lo scritto termina con: "Cosi l'anno primo fini del Viaggiatore Divino" Seguono "Il viaggiator divino anno secondo" e "Viaggiatore divino anno terzo". Presente anche "On the soul" sull'immortalità dell'anima. Testo inglese. Dedica manoscritta con firma dell'editore/autore George Baldwin a Ernest Augustus Duca di Chamberland (1771-1851) che in seguitò diventerà Re di Hanover dal 1837 al 1851. Baldwin nella dedica specifica che è autore della parte inglese dell'opeera e solamente editore della parte italiana. Ex libris nobiliare al contropiatto anteriore probabilmente dello stesso Duca l quale il volume è dedicato. Tagli dorati.
