L'autore ripercorre la storia del linguaggio dei sordo muti attribuendone il primato agli spagnoli, i primi ad aver inventato un sistema al contrario dei francesi che inventarono un metodo ben due secoli dopo. Quando nel 1767 l'Ordine dei Gesuiti venne proibito in Spagna, Andres si trasferì in Italia dove visse fino alla morte. In buone condizioni.
