Au violoniste, compositeur et chef d'orchestre Jules Danbé (1840-1905). « Mon cher Danbé, J'ai été agréablement surpris en lisant ce matin sur le Gaulois que vous voulez bien rester encore à l'Opéra-Comique pour conduire mes représentation de Carmen. Il a vu Pedro Gailhard (1848-1918), directeur de l'Opéra de Paris, qui lui a refusé une autorisation. Il portera à Pfeiffer le duo le soir chez Mlle Bréval. [251]
