Intéressante et assez peu courante édition des Mémoires de l'affaire Goezman. Elle est précédée d'un frontispice de Marillier, répété dans les deux volumes. Il est non signé, une explication du frontispice se lit en regard de celui-ci. (Cordier H., Bibliographie des oeuvres de Beaumarchais, 366).

Edizione originale del 1867 di queste memorie di Antonio Gasbarrone (Sonnino 1793-Abbiategrasso 1882) uno dei più celebri briganti dell'Ottocento, redatta da Pietro Masi, uno dei suoi principali compagni. L'opera venne pubblicata in francese a testimonianza di come la fama del brigante riuscì a superare i confini delle Alpi. Perfino Stendhal lo cita più volte nelle sue opere. "Avec un portrait de Gasbaroni en lithographie. Précédés d'une substantielle étude sur l'organisation du brigandage, les présents Mémoires sont entièrement anecdotiques et par leur pittoresque, par le nom des personnages qui s'y trouvent incidemment mêlés (Mgr. Pacca, le cardinal Fesch, Consalvi, etc.), méritent une place à part dans la littérature du genre. Aussi parce que ces brigands furent de 1799 à 1815, les ennemis des Français qui les ménagèrent peu. Enfin et surtout parce que de 1799 à 1828, l'histoire des États pontificaux est entièrement liée à celle du brigandage qui infestait ces pays, et qu'on n'y trouve pas seulement des relations de meurtres, d'incendies ou de pillages, mais aussi de véritables faits de guerres contre les troupes régulières, des entrevues, des traités, voire des alliances ! Bella edizione illustrata del 1741 di questa opera di Renè du Guay-Trouin, senza dubbio uno dei più celebri ufficiali di Marina del suo tempo, attivo tra la fine del XVII secolo e inizi del XVIII secolo. Du Guay era noto per il suo coraggio, la sua astuzia e la sua competenza in ambito navale durante la Guerra di Successione spagnola dal 1699 al 1712. Per di più agì come un corsaro nelle acque americane e caraibiche. Scrisse le sue memorie nel 1720 e le affidò al Duca di Orleans. Venne fatta una copia e pubblicata in una copia pirata ad Amsterdam nel 1730 che differesce dalla prima versdione ufficiale edita nel 1740. In queste sue memorie Du Guay intendeva ristabilire la verità sui combattimenti navali accaduti durante le sue spedizioni. Alla fine lista dell'equipaggio delle navi di cui fu comandante dal 1702 al 1709 e lista degli ufficiali di Marina. All'interno sono presenti sei tavole ripiegate cinque delle quali mostrano vascelli e battaglie in mare. La sesta tavola con la mappa di Rio de Janeiro è strappata a metà. In buone condizioni. Beautiful illustrated edition of 1741 of this work by Renè du Guay-Trouin, one of the most famous marine officiers of his time, active between the end of XVII century and early XVIII century. Du Guay was famosu for his courage and naval skill during Spanish succession war from 1699 to 1712. Mostly acted as a privateer in American and Caribbean waters. He worte his memories in 1720 and gave them to the Duke of Orleans. A copy was made and was pirated in Amsterdam in 1730 which is different from the original one published in 1740. Du Guay in his memories intended to reestablish the truth on naval fighting during his expeditions. At the end list of people in the ships which it was comamnder from 1702 to 1709 and list of officiers of Marine. inside there are six folded plates five of them show vessels and sea battles. The sixth plate with the map of Rio de Janeiro is teared into two parts. In good conditions. Edizione senza data ma del 1793 delle celebri memorie del libertino nobile francese Conte Philibert de Grammont (1621-1707) scritte da suo fratellastro il Conte Anthony Hamilton (1645-1719). Il Conte di Grammont fuggì dalla Francia dopo aver sedotto una delle concubine preferite da Luigi XVI. All'interno sono presenti 60 planches fuori testo di ritratti disegnati da S. Harding e F. Voet, e incisi da Bartolozzi, Birrel, Barker, Claessens, Clamp, Gardiner, Harding jeune, Knight, Legoux, Nugent, Osborne, Parker, Sheneker, Schiavonetti, Silvester, Tomkins e Vandenburg. Risultano purtroppo mancanti 12 ritratti. Tra i personaggi presenti: Maresciallo di Turenne, Mazarino, Anna D'Austria, Duchessa di York ecc...
