Première édition de la traduction française ( l'édition original à Wilmington en 1784), Rare exemplaire de ce travail fondamental car il donne la première histoire de la province du Kentucky, avec une carte adaptée et traduite de la carte américaine. On y trouve aussi le premier récit de la vie de Daniel Boon (qui ouvrit les portes de cette province aux colons, s'attacha à connaître les indiens, fut fait prisonnier par les Shawnees qui l'adoptèrent comme l'un des leurs.) et une description de plusieurs tribus indiennes. Filson avait séjourné en Pennsylvanie et dans le Kentucky vers 1782-83 comme observateur. Il fut tué par un indien en 1788. This is the first French edition of the first history of Kentucky.
