‎London, printed for the author by Carpenter and Son, sold by T. Tegg, 1815 1 volume in-8 (23,5 x 14,5), de (12)-XXIX-314 pages. Nombreuses gravures hors-texte et gravures sur bois. Cartonnage plein papier gris de l'époque. Quelques usures au cartonnage (coins, mors fendus), relié sur brochure, étiquette de titre imprimée en papier au dos. Intérieur frais. Beau papier. TROISIÈME ÉDITION. La première édition de ce "Guide du pêcheur à la ligne", superbe ouvrage richement illustré et qui aborde de tous les aspects de la pêche des poissons d'eau douce et des poissons de mer, a paru un an auparavant en 1814. Cette première édition est très rare. Cette troisième édition augmentée et corrigée, publié l'année suivante, en 1815 (comme la seconde édition), est rare également et recherchée.. Exemplaire imprimé sur beau papier à belles marges, sans doute un large paper (grand papier). L'illustration se compose de 1 frontispice gravé sur acier (trophies of angling), 25 planches hors-texte dont 2 cartes de parcours de pêche et de nombreuses vignettes gravées sur bois (poissons, mouches, etc.). Collationné complet sur un autre exemplaire de la même édition. "A classic work, first published in 1814, which went into numerous editions, this one being particularly well illustrated.Published in the same year as the second edition, due to "the very favourable manner which the said work is spoken of by the Sporting Magazine for April 1815, also by the New Monthly Magazine for May". This edition includes new copper-engraved plates "taken from drawings made from living fish, under the author's own inspection" Westwood & Satchell, p. 186.
