The scarce first edition. As Vice-admiral for the Dutch navy he served in the first, second and third Anglo-Dutch War (Battles og Leghorn, Battle of Lowestoft) and many other battles of Wars. In 1677 he became Admiral-general of the Danish navy and Knight in the Order of the Elephant (an engraving together with the Danish king showing this) and in the same year he became a Danish Count, and he defeted the Swedish navy in the Battle of Öland.
