Cinémathèque de Toulouse), 1972. 1 volume broché grand in-8 carré (22 x 24 cm) de 397 pages, riche iconographie en noir et blanc dans le texte, annexes, pièces justif., génériques, chronol., 2 indices (films, personnes).- "Que cette rhétorique ait été mise au service de la cause la plus discutable, c'est une évidence. Mais il fallait en même temps pouvoir dire que 'Le Président Krüger' a la force expressive d'un très bon film américain, ou que 'Le Juif Süss' a plutôt mieux vieilli que 'La Chute de Berlin'. Condamner 1500 longs métrages à être des navets parce que la croix gammée flottait sur la Porte de Brandebourg, eût relevé du même terrorisme intellectuel que ces expositions nazies de 'l'art dégénéré', qui condamnaient 1500 tableaux à être des croûtes. A mon sens, l'historien a le droit d'émettre, à la faveur du recul qu'il s'impose lui-même, un jugement esthétique en forme de bilan, et les auteurs n'y ont pas manqué" (F.
