Dimension extérieur 40 x 31 cm. Image : 30,5 x 21 cm. Petite gravure sympathique, à caractère allégorique, mettant en scène le printemps au travers d'une femme. On y trouve un petit texte qui loue les avantages et bienfaits de cette saison. Gravure dans son jus, contrecollée sur carton. Présence d'une déchirure (voir photos) mais restaurée.
Jean Couvay était un graveur et dessinateur né à Arles et décédé à Paris. Dessin d'arpès Grégoire Huret, dessinateur français né à Lyon en 1606 et décédé à Paris en 1670, c'était un dessinateur et graveur buriniste de l'Académire royale de peinture et de sculpture.

Antoine Caron (1521?1599) was a French master glassmaker, illustrator, Northern Mannerist painter and a product of the School of Fontainebleau. He is one of the few French painters of his time who had a pronounced artistic personality. His work reflects the refined, although highly unstable, atmosphere at the court of the House of Valois during the French Wars of Religion of 1560 to 1598.

At the beginning of the twentieth century, the legendary Bateau-Lavoir-located on Place mile-Goudeau, near the present-day Mus e de Montmartre-, where the artists Picasso, Derain, Vlaminck, Van Rees, Matisse, Apollinaire, Max Jacob, and many others would meet and exchange ideas in an independent spirit, became the cradle of modern art. Kees van Dongen moved in around December 1905, very probably invited there by Pablo Picasso, who had been living in Paco Durio's former studio since April 1904. He stayed there until 1907. This fascinating book illustrates the extent to which Kees van Dongen's brief stay in the Bateau-Lavoir had a decisive influence on his subsequent career. Several significant works illustrate the key phases in this period.

De westerse media noemden het hoopvol 'de Arabische Lente', want eindelijk ging het met het Midden-Oosten de goede kant uit. De regio stond op de drempel van de democratie en zou het extremisme goeddeels naar de geschiedenisboeken verbannen. Maar niet iedereen was overtuigd van de goede afloop. Alleen was die visie taboe en bleven we langer geloven in het sprookje dan goed was. Gebeurtenissen werden verzwegen of opgeklopt, gissingen deden zich voor als de waarheid. Een van die fata morgana's, de opstand van het geweldloze volk tegen de brutale verdrukker, vervaagde langzaam maar zeker. De conclusie was ontnuchterend. Irak, nazi's en neoconservatieven (2003), De heilige wereldoorlog. Halfweg de kruistocht tegen het moslimterrorisme (2009). De Arabische cocktail is daar het vervolg op.
