BONFILS Félix ( photographer of Egypt ) - GOUPIL & Co. Paris (providers of the photographs) :
Reference : 55570
Egypt/Paris, s.d. (ca. 1895), oblong album 44 x 30 cm, bound in red quarter morocco, marbled endpapers., Contains 20 cardboard-mounted original photographs. Size approx. 235 x 285 mm. Seventeen of the photographs are signed by Bonfils in the negative. They are numbered and with a title caption in the negative. One photo seems to be of much earlier date. The photographs don't show any fading of soiling. The album with the photographs is in near pristine state. Some of the boards show some undulating but everything is in very good condtion. Some of the boards show the small oval blindstamps of the Parisian art-and print dealer Goupil. His name is a warrant for the highest quality. It shows in this finely preserved album. We calculate the album at an approx. price of 100 Euro per picture. Most of the pictures show views of Cairo, one picture shows the grave of Mohammed's daughter in Damas. A complete list of the pictures, with photo number and title captions, in format Excell, can be had upon e-mail request (we don't send pictures, but of the outside of the album). The listed price is for the complete album.
